LEKI Lenhart GmbH was founded in 1948 in the wood processing plant of Karl Lenhart, where he originally manufactured the wooden signs of bakeries and butchers.

Karl Lenhart, an avid skier, was unimpressed by the quality and functionality of ski poles then offered on the market. Determined to create better options, he began machining his own handles and poles himself. Thanks to Lenhart’s aviation experience, he was also able to process aluminum and composite. From these materials he developed his own poles under the name LEKI, which stands from the company headquarters – Lenhart in Kircheim – in Germany.
